Known to many as Serge, has joined his wife, Gloria, in heavenly repose.
Serge, a competitive athlete to the last moments of his life, passed away suddenly on his birthday, January the 10th, 2013, after completing 4 games of 10-pin bowling with his senior league in Toronto, where he resided the past 8 years.
Serge spent 43 of his 90 years as a newspaperman. From the young Reporter
for the Manila Chronicle, to the Sports Editor of an Araneta Publication in the Philippines, Serge pursued his passion for the written words in Canada. The Chatham News, The Brampton Times, then on to the community of Windsor where Serge & Gloria made their home, the Windsor Star from 1970 until his retirement in 1988 as Night Editor.
The last years of Serge's life were spent reading, bowling, playing snooker, competing in the Seniors Games, golfing, and being with his loving family who are thankful to have had the past 8 years with him.. His daughters, Teresa and Zarina, granddaughter, Zuki (Clarinda) celebrate his long full life.
On behalf of Sergio, the family extends their gratitude and goodwill to Windsor, their friends, team-mates, shopping buddies, co- workers, caregivers and acquaintances during those 18 years in Windsor, on this his final farewell.
