Bill, thanks for being a great cousin - for letting me hang out with the big kids on Beechwood - forcing me to try a pepperoni pizza - encouraging me to look at school as a means to a better life & to enjoy the learning process! Thanks for being so kind to my mother who loved you dearly.
You will be missed by all. Love, Della

My deepest sympathy to Bill's family and friends, I worked with Bill in the Reference Dept. at the Leddy Library for almost 6 years and still remember the wonderful surprise send-off he arranged for Walt and myself when we moved to Chatham. He was a wonderful friend and a terrific librarian.

Bill, I knew you from the library, and you were so very helpful, but I knew you even better through our dear friend Terry Marentette! I just think now of the laughs and the drinks being poured in heaven as you two are together concocting another fabulous get together with Stephanie, Carlene, Stick Walker, Fr. Jim, and all those who have gone up to meet you at that great big dinner table in the sky that is so fabulously set! Enjoy!

The article about Bill in The Windsor Star caught my attention when I read his name. I remember talking to him a couple of times during my years at the U of W and he was as engaging as the article describes. First time was when the movie Silkwood came out. The story fascinated me then, and still does. For some reason I wanted to learn more, and another librarian pointed me to him. I told him what I was looking for, but explained that it was just out of curiosity - nothing academic. Nonetheless, he jumped from his desk and in 5 minutes had Facts on File and the original New York Time investigative report for me to read. Another time I was admiring a Freedom to Read poster. For some reason, I asked if I could have it. He pulled it off the wall and gave it to me on the spot. I still have that poster in my archives. It was small kindnesses like that made the University a welcoming place for students.
