Dear Sandra:
Living away from central Ontario, I only recently learned of Jerry's passing. It is with fond memories only that I remember Jerry. I was in his first cohort of CBT-ers at the U in 2007 and still have all of his notes. He instilled in me an appreciation for the integration of all therapies and to be open-minded about the different pathways through which people change. He most certainly made me a better psychologist for having known him.
With sincere condolence and warmest thoughts,

To Sandra,
We too were shocked to read belatedly of Jerry's death. We wanted to reconnect with both of you so checked the U of Windsor website, and found the sad news. Our deepest sympathy, Sandra, we'll be in touch.

Just heard the news today from a patient's friend in Windsor, who I referred to Jerry. Jerry and I attended graduate school together and he was a great support to me and helped me stay grounded during a very difficult time. Truly, one of the kindest men I have ever met. I am sorry we had lost touch over the past (hard to believe...) 20 years and was looking forward to reconnecting and glad to have someone in Windsor to whom I could refer patients with absolute confidence and trust. My thoughts are with Sandra (another of the really good people of the world) and all of Jerry's family and friends. So sad.

Am truly stunned to have just heard of Jerry's passing... he helped me deal with many difficult issues and I truly looked forward to our sessions, as I knew I would leave with positive tools to continue coping. He would often lend or recommend helpful reading material along with encouraging words. I will miss him.
