DAY, C. Stanley
Dad left this world at the age of 98 on July 18, 2012 to start his new adventure. He goes to join his loving wife of 71 years, Margaret (Woodall) (2011). Cherished father of Elizabeth and Ron Abbott and Barbara and Walter Pastorius. Treasured Grandan of Curtis and Angela Pastorius. Born in Preston on July 15, 1914, Stan is survived by his sister Audrey (Bob) (deceased) Fournier, brothers Wilfred (Flo) and Bob (Jackie) and many loving nieces and nephews; predeceased by his sister Norma (Pete) Baynton and his parents Wilfred and Laura. Stan was comptroller with Windsor Medical and finished his career in the same role with the Ministry of Health OHIP. He lived a full and wonderful life; golfing and fishing, gardening, wine making, polishing rocks and being a general fixer upper. His family was a great joy and he had a special relationship with his grandson Curtis. Stan was president of the Son's of England Benefit Society and was a member of the Chartered Accountants of Canada. He was a long-time member and Warden of St. Mary's Church. A special thanks to all the staff at Grandview for their years of care and to Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus, particularly, Alex, Carolyn, Colleen, Susie and Lucy - you have hearts of gold. His family will share memories with relatives and friends on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church (1983 St. Mary's Gate, Walkerville). A Celebration of his Life will follow at 11 a.m. Donations to St. Mary's Anglican Church or St. Mary's Anglican Church Food Cupboard would be appreciated.
