HUNTER, Douglas Lee
Douglas Lee Hunter 69, of Bryantown, Maryland passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 after a brave two year battle with cancer. He was born in Warren, Ohio on March 20, 1943 to Lois Jean and Edwin Hunter. Doug grew up with his family in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He is survived by his mother, Jean Hunter; his wife, Frances Annette Hunter; son, Kenneth Reynolds (Meg); sisters Kay Monasmith (Jack) and Carol Jones (Gary); nephews Bradley, David, Mark, Christopher; and niece Jennifer. He is predeceased by his father, Edwin Hunter. Doug was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired in 2002 after 30 years of civil service with the Treasury Department. He will always be remembered for his love of his family, gardening, respect for the environment and the enjoyment of fine wine and cuisine. One of Doug's favorite hobbies was entering sweepstakes for his family members. A Memorial Service will be held on April 13, 2013 in his family home town of Merlin, Ontario, Canada for the immediate family. A Memorial/Burial Service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery to honor his military service in the future. Friends and family will be notified once the date has been assigned.
