Passed peacefully at home from the loving arms of his family into the loving arms of his Lord on Thursday, January 31, 2013. Beloved husband of Joan for 53 years. Loving father of Tom, Lisa Cavers and husband Greg, Drew and Sharon, Annie Stinchcombe and husband Terry, Matt and wife Theresa and Joe. Proud grandfather of Alicia Rutgers (Adam), Josh Cavers (Lisa), Jeremy Cavers (Dana), Alaina Cavers (Josh), Leona, Julia, Victoria and Andrea Gevaert, Madelynn, Evan, Celeste and Isabelle Gevaert, Jack and Kate Gevaert and great-grandfather of Ella and Sophie Rutgers. Predeceased by his siblings Camiel (Yvonne), Peter (Mary), Mary Vermeulen (Jerome), Gus, Leona and Matilda Gevaert. George will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. In 1990, after 22 years of service George retired from GM Trim Plant. He was an avid bowler and had a passion for farming. He was a lifelong member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4555, Woodslee. George was very honoured to receive the Michael F. Byrne award for his contributions and hard work with the Right to Life Association. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank all of the devoted caregivers that assisted George over the last several years, especially Nicole and Linda.
