MATLOCK, George
George Maurice Matlock was born February 27, 1924 in Olinda Ontario. Peacefully entered the Kingdom of God with his loving family by his side on Sunday, November 11, 2012. Loving and devoted husband of 63 years to Olga (Paska). Loving Father of Lynn Matlock-Girard of Tecumseh, Leslie Matlock- Crain and husband William, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Keith Matlock and wife Lorraine, of Lakeshore. Dear Grandfather of Jeremy Girard and wife Emily, Jeffery Girard and wife Charmaine, Joshua Girard and wife Krysten, Brittany Matlock-Guthrie and husband Christopher, of Scotland, Brandon Matlock and Cole Matlock. Sadly missed by his great grandchildren Keegan, Aidan, Logan, Hudson, Xander, Isabel and Parker. Survived by his brother Garnet Matlock and wife Mary, and his sister-in-law Ida Drews and husband Donald, of California. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Jessie (Myers) Matlock, and his brother Private Rodney Keith (Bud) Matlock (1944) in Caen, France. George was a Canadian Navy Veteran of WW2. He was the Past President of Domestic Foundry Limited where he worked for over 45 years along side his loving wife Olga. George was a longtime active member of First Lutheran Church. He served on the Board of Trustees and Elders before taking on the job that he took immense pleasure in, as the Sunday School bus driver for over 10 years. As a family man, George led his family by example, in a measured, soft-spoken manner. Honesty, integrity, love, dedication and his love of God were hallmarks of his relationships with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. If you so desire, donations to First Lutheran Church or Transition to Betterness would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Tuesday 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at
