Family and friends are grieving the loss of Jim Byrne on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in Windsor, Ontario. Jim will be deeply missed by his wife Susan, his sons Joe, Colin and Steven, and his stepdaughters Suzanne, Emily and Christy. Jim was a respected educator with the Windsor and Essex County Catholic School Board and a former President of the Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario. He was treasured for his kindness, sincerity and commitment to Catholic education. Out of school his passion for golf was deepened by his knowledge of the game and love of its history. The family wishes to express its thanks to the staff at the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, Hotel Dieu Hospital and the Hospice of Windsor for the care and compassion that guided Jim and his family through his illness. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hospice of Windsor. Jim's funeral will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 146 Talbot St S. in Essex, Ontario on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Family and friends are welcome anytime after 9:30a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30a.m.
