OKSANEN, Karri August MacLean
In the early morning of August 4, 2012, Karri Oksanen, beloved son of Peter and Tracy (MacLean) and brother of Alexis, was killed in a tragic accident at the age of 22. Karri was an outstanding student athlete at John F. Ross and received a scholarship to Lon Morris College in Texas. He fell in love with Texas and Texas fell in love with him. Karri went on to Arkansas Tech where he continued his studies and was a student assistant coach. Karri touched the lives of countless people with his contagious smile and passion for life. He will be dearly missed by his grandparents George and Marlene MacLean of Guelph and Dr. Ilkka and Helen Oksanen of Windsor. He was loved by his Uncle Dale (Cathi) MacLean, Aunt Cheryl (Blair) Rickers, Aunt Susan (Ricky) Kolyvek, Aunt Lisbeth Newman-Stegner, Uncle Michael Stegner and Uncle David Oksanen. His cousins Tara, Jenna, Lane, Dana, Jean- Luc, Maddi, Parry, Jack and Payton will never forget him. Karri leaves behind extended MacLean and Oksanen families who loved him dearly. He will be forever missed by a fantastic group of friends in Canada and the United States. Karri loved them like brothers and they will always be welcome in the Oksanen home. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph where the family will receive friends on Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.
