It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ollie, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by wife Marie (1988), wife Pamela (2009), son Gary (1949), daughter Sharon Butryn (2013), parents Amedie (1961) and Marie Louise (1993), brothers Norman (1935), Clement (1994), Oscar (1995), Jerome (1998), Rene (2002), Bernard (2010). Survived by brother Clarence (Madeline); sisters Alvina, Jean (Clarence, 1989), Norma (Ray); son Stephen (Marie); son-in-law Gary Butryn; grandchildren Tommy (Lori), Tammy (Rick), Mathew, Joey (Stephanie), Casey (Kristin); and great-grandchildren, Rya, Taylor, Brandyn, Samantha, Nathen, Damien, Chase, Braelin, Kinsley. He joined the army in 1943, and served three years in WWII. He was wounded twice, hospitalized in Italy and returned home in 1946. He was a lifetime member of the Canadian Legion BR #157, Amherstburg, where he was in the rifle party for a number of years. The November 11 ceremonies, in which until recently he always participated, gave him the opportunity to remember and commemorate his fallen comrades. He also served as Branch Membership Chairman for many years. Retired from General Chemical after 29 years of service. He enjoyed being in the Wavy Navy Band entertaining the elderly in several retirement and nursing homes in the area. Visitation at the
