Peter CHUCHMACH Obituary

Published by Windsor Star on Jan. 10, 2015.

CHUCHMACH, Peter Joseph Alexander
Age 58, of Windsor, went to heaven January 8, 2015 to be with the ultimate Boss following the most courageous three year fight resulting from a severe spinal cord injury. A beloved brother to Greg Chuchmach; treasured partner to Terri Torra; precious uncle to Megan and Ryan Chuchmach and much loved cousin and buddy to many, Pete lit up the lives of all around him with his wit, humour and many "Peteisms." He was born in Toronto, grew up in Milton and was predeceased by his parents Peter and Anne Mary Chuchmach. Pete was a proud Cornell University hockey alum who cherished his Big Red buddies, Windsor golf comrades and Milton and Ohio pals, all of whom he considered family. Special thanks to the extraordinary medical teams at Windsor Regional Hospital, Malden Park and Syracuse Upstate University Hospital who gave us all three bonus years with a one-of-a-kind man. Enjoy the links, the rinks, the drinks and the runs up there big guy. You now have the best seat in the house at every Springsteen concert. Forever and always our hero. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to establish a hockey scholarship in Pete's name at www.crowdrise.com/ petechuchmachscholarship. Visiting at

My sincere condolensces to Terri, Greg and family, Brian and family as you grieve Pete's death. I was so very thankful for the opportunity to visit him in hospital (and meet Terri) last year when I was in Windsor. My mother (Helen) and I both extend our love to you and are praying for God's comfort to be yours in your time of loss. Cousin Cindy (Churchmuch)

Pete was such a good friend to me. I hope I was a good friend to him. He was such a good and decent man and always came to aid of anyone he could help. I will miss our conversations and jam nights. It was always fun when Pete would sing play the bongos. Lianne will miss her duets with Pete. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pete's family.
