MERETSKY, Warren B.
In Loving Memory
March 8, 1952 - December 4, 2012
Dr. Warren Meretsky of Lauderdale by the Sea passed away Tuesday, December 4 at the age of 60. Dr. Meretsky was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, where he had legions of wonderful friends. He attended undergraduate school at The Ohio State University and University of Detroit. After graduating from the University of Detroit Dental School in 1976 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, establishing a successful dental practice where patients loved, trusted and laughed with him. Dr. Meretsky had a career change in 1995, embracing the financial services industry. He received a degree in Financial Planning from Nova Southeastern University School of Business and Entrepreneurship. Warren was an avid reader, enjoyed playing the piano and was passionate about letting his son Christopher beat him at golf. He loved studying and speaking Italian - if only for the joy of learning another language. He adored his family and was always happy to tell you so. Warren was a loving husband, a devoted father and a loyal friend. He was a wonderful listener and always made a diligent point of staying in touch with friends. He took pride in everything he did and dressed impeccably (the Florida newspapers once dubbed him the "GQ Dentist"). Warren loved to laugh and had a wonderful dry sense of humour. His integrity was very important to him and it showed in everything he did. Warren is survived by his loving devoted wife of 20 years, Anne Marie (Pancallo), his adoring son Christopher, his devoted daughter Nicole, and son Adam from a previous marriage. Warren was predeceased by his mother Eleanor and father Irving "Toots," sister Lynn and brother Ross, all originally from Windsor. A memorial service took place in Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday, December 8, 2012, followed by a private graveside burial. The Meretsky family requested that in lieu of flowers, any memorial gifts be made as donations payable to: St. Thomas Aquinas High School/Meretsky Fund, 2801 SW 12th Street, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33312, telephone 954-581-0700 or fax 954-581-8263.
