BASTIEN, Laurette Edna
(nee Langford)
Went peacefully to meet her "Jimmy", surrounded by gentle love and laughter, on March 24, 2014 at The Village of Aspen Lake at the age of 91 years. Reunited with her beloved husband of 70 years James "Jim" Bastien (2014). Dear mother of Veronica "Ronnie" Filby, Gregory James, and Albert Bastien. Loving grandmother of Matthew and Nicole (Clark) Filby. Cherished great grandmother of Andrew Clark, Dylan and Bradley Filby. Predeceased by her sisters Alice St. Amand, Jean Soucie, and Theresa Echlin. Also predeceased by her brothers Felix, Leonard, and Edward Langford. Laurette is also predeceased by her parents Julien Langford (1935) and Rose Anna Langford (nee Guimond) (1965). Also remembered and missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Laurette was a former school crossing guard for the City of Windsor, a volunteer for the blind, a member of the Friends of the Riverside Library as well as the Greater Windsor Senior Citizens Center. Above all else, Laurette was a wonderful loving wife and mother. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at The Village of Aspen Lake for their tender care of Laurette during these last 3 years. Our mother loved dogs, children, crafts and spending time in the outdoors. Helping any of these in her memory will be paid forward in ways we may never know. Visitation at
