DAYUS, Doris Rose
With great sadness, the family of Doris Rose Dayus announces her death, at home, on June 2, 2014, at the age of 83 years. Doris loved life. Whether golfing, swimming, curling, knitting, travelling, tidal bore rafting, whale watching or playing bridge, she was happiest when with people: Doris loved her family and friends. A natural caregiver, after graduating from St. Mary's Academy (1949), Doris studied at St. Joseph's School of Nursing in London, Ontario, and graduated in 1952. The devoted wife of the late Frank Dayus; loving mother of Sandra (Gord Maxwell), Frank (Debbie Revait), Brian (Sheryl Nantais) and Carol (Tim Graham); adored grandmother of JME (Linda Cole), Verity, Kristyn (Greg Wiklanski), Frank (Samantha Veres), Amber, Dayna (Tyler Ondejko), Bree, Sean, Bronwyn and Trent; and the doting great-grandmother of Beatrix, Elias, Grayson, Frankie, Brooks and Audrey; Doris is also remembered by her in-laws, Dorothy Martin, Nancy Duchene and Dinah (John) MacDonald and their families. Doris was predeceased by her Belgian parents Bertha and Arthur Meyns, her brother Albert Meyns, her sister Dorothy Quinn, her brother-in-laws Al Duchene, Lloyd Dayus and Frank Quinn, and her sister-in-law Lavella Dayus. The Dayus family extends a special thank you to all who supported and cared for Doris. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of Windsor & Essex County Inc. would be appreciated by the family. They welcome all for Visitation to celebrate Doris' life at
