MCLAUGHLIN, Betty (Moffat)
Passed away peacefully, at Malden Park on June 16, 2014 at age 89. Beloved wife of Paul with whom she would have celebrated 70 years of marriage in September. Proud mother of Linda Schreiber, Nancy McLaughlin, Barbara McLaughlin (Gary McMillan), Douglas McLaughlin, Stephen McLaughlin. Grandmother to David and James Souilliere. Also a great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother. Survived by her two sisters Ruth Thompson and Helen Simpson as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Donald, William, and Dorothy St. Louis. Betty was a strong, independent, generous woman, a faithful loving wife and a dedicated mother. She lived a good life and proudly lived by her beliefs in; Do unto others as you would have them do unto you; Give more than you receive and Pay all kindnesses forward. Staff and friends at the Royal Marquis Retirement home will remember her fondly when they pass by the empty chair and the computer where she played solitaire endlessly. Betty loved living at the Marquis and we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff for their compassionate care and professionalism shown to her over the years. A special Thank You to the anonymous donors of blood who gave so that she could live awhile longer. In Memory of Betty a blood donation to the Canadian Blood Services or a contribution to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to
