LENNON (nee Clark), Jean Alaithia

Passed away in her sleep at Royal Oak Village on April 17, 2012. Born in 1921 in Chengdu, China, daughter of Mortimer and Vera Clark, Jean returned to Canada in 1925 and was educated at the University of Toronto. She married her beloved James in 1946 and spent over 50 years with him until his death in 2000. She is mourned by children, Maureen & Ken, Alan & Jan, Joan & William and her grandchildren, Owen & Carolina, Roger & Becci, Edwin & Ashley, Graeme, Jamie, Davey, Thomas and Callum, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Alaithia. Jean was a lifelong, active member of the United Church of Canada and, for the past 50 years, of Glenwood United Church. She was a driving force in many organizations involved with the church, with social justice and with the Windsor community. The family will welcome friends at Royal Oak Village (2400 Sandwich West Parkway) on Sunday, April 22nd from 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Glenwood United Church, 1825 Grand Marais Road West, Windsor, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, it would be appreciated if donations were made in Jean's name to CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind), the United Church of Canada Mission and Service Fund, or Habitat for Humanity Canada.
