Born October 26, 1917, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2012 at Richmond Terrace Nursing Home with family by her side. Predeceased by her parents James and Martha McBride and her husband Ernie (1985). Loving mother of Marilyn Sutton, Gerald Bornais (Helene) of Arnprior, ON, and Joan Bornais of Cambridge, ON. Dear grandmother of Jim Sutton, John Sutton (Gisele), Michael Sutton, Matthew Sutton (Michelle), Dan Sutton (Debbie), Mark Bornais (Cindy), Diane Schofield, Gary Bornais (Carrie), Tom Bornais (Chantal), Andy Bornais (Rebekah) and 15 great- grandchildren. Survived by her brother Larry McBride (Kate). Predeceased by her siblings Ruby Blair, Pearl Mason, John McBride, Charles McBride, Clifford McBride, James McBride, Irene McCarthy, Sylvia Hunt, Vera Goodwin, Edward McBride and Clara Boufford. Mona was a lifelong resident of Amherstburg and her hobbies included cooking, baking and making candy. The family is indebted to the staff of Franklin Gardens in Leamington and Richmond Terrace in Amherstburg and Dr. Tim O'Callahan for the excellent care and compassion shown to our mother and grandmother. on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 8:00 p.m. Friends and family are asked to gather at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. and proceed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
