Passed away peacefully on February 24, 2013 at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus at the age of 92 years. Born on December 8, 1920 in Brighton, England to the late Arthur and Winifred Akehurst. Then in 1945 she came to Canada as a war bride to join the Belisle family in Thessalon, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Eugene (May 1982). Cherished mother of Ray and wife Mary-Anne. Loving grandmother to her granddaughters, Rae-Anne Ingratta and husband Roberto and Renée Penner and husband Gerhard. Dear great-grandmother of grandson Matthew Penner and granddaughter Lauren Penner. Sister of the late Arthur Akehurst and his late wife Dorothy of England. Stepsister of the late Frank Sutton and his wife Peggy of Bowmanville and Dorothy Blakey of Burlington. Cousin of Bob Charlton and late wife Pat of Seaforth England, and niece Linda Berridge and family of Hailshaw, England. Also survived by several nieces and nephews of the Belisle family. She truly enjoyed the company of her cat, Rosie. Mom's true passions were knitting and bird watching, and she enjoyed writing letters. Thank you to the PSW'S, nurses and staff for the compassionate continuing care at Extendicare Tecumseh as she made that residence her "home" for the past eight years. Also a special thanks to Dr. Ian McLeod for all his comforting words and special treatment to Winie. She was a member of Catholic Women's League at Sacred Heart Church, and the League of the Sacred Heart. Visitation at
