Passed away peacefully with family at her side on September 13, 2013 at the age of 87 in Essex, Ontario. Loving wife of the late John Shinkarik and the late Sid Hunter. Cherished mother of Joanne Schmidt (Peter), Elisabeth Doak (Frank), and David Shinkarik. Stepmother of Hunter families; Roy and Judy, Harry and Grace, Jason and Kristina. Loving grandma to Christina Schmidt- McPhedran (Hugh), Robert Schmidt (Jennifer), Jason Shinkarik (Susana), Grant Shinkarik, and Lilianne Doak. Proud great- grandma to Madeline, Holten, Hailey, Liam, Diego, Nadia and Jacob. Predeceased by siblings Paul, Teddie, Bernice, Mona and Grace. Survived by brother-in-law John Wilson, sister-in-law Violet Munson and dear cousin Josie Ede. Dorothy will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Special aunt to Sandra and Linda. Dorothy was a valued Eatons of Winnipeg retiree, avid card player, talented knitter, former Sweet Adeline Chorus member and dedicated volunteer. Dorothy was devoted to her family and friends. The family sincerely thanks the exceptional staff at the Iler Lodge of Essex for the care, support and compassion given to our dear mother. In keeping with Dorothy's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family memorial was held in Windsor, Ontario. Dorothy will be laid to rest at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Arrangements entrusted to
