BASTIEN, Hector Jr.
80 years passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Leamington Court. Late of Kingsville and formerly of McGregor where he farmed for many years. Beloved husband of Priscilla Bastien (Beausoleil - nee Kennette). Dear Husband of the late Georgina Giofu (2001) and Lynda Levack (2003). Dear father of Donna Carter (Dave), Albert (Mary Ann), Maurice (Wanda), Michael (Jeanie), Mary Jane Meloche (Ron), Daniel, Linus, Ovide (Veronica), Margaret Marcotte (Mark). Also dear father of Angela Bastien and step- children Erika Edwards, Kenny Edwards (Chrissy). Dear step-father to Priscilla's and the late Wilfred Beausoleil's children the late Joe (2012) (Elaine), Jeanette Fleming (Jim), Irene Harrison (Pete), Robert (Georgettte), Joyce Sauve (Ken), Tom (Cathy), Christine Mason (Bob), Richard (Marianne), Anne Marie Verbeke (Ed), and Priscilla Iacobelli (John). He will be missed by his 60 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Rev. Father Linus, Sister Cecile, the late Irene Beneteau (2011) (Alphonse), Frances Anne Brooks (2012) (Art), Leonard, Jeannette Vandersteen (Tony), Ovide (Danielle), and Gerald (Paula). Visiting at the

on Monday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Knights of Columbus Service and Parish Prayers Monday at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass to celebrate Hector's life will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from St. Clement's Church, 9567 Walker Road, McGregor at 11 a.m. (Please note visiting from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass will be held at the Church). If you wish to donate in Hector's name, donations made to Brentwood Recovery Home or to a Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated. Family and Friends may share their memories of Hector or make a charitable contribution online at

So sorry to read about Hector's passing. We had just gotten to know each other within the past year through our passion for genealogy. We never had the chance to meet in person but spent many hours chatting over the phone. Hector was a font of information regarding Essex County's history and the many families that made that history so rich. My thoughts and prayers go out to Hector's family.
