HIGH POINT - Eloise Wells Boyd, 82, of High Point died suddenly on Friday, May 12, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eunice Cousar Wells; and a brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Isabelle Fee Wells. She is survived by her husband, Chalmers Boyd; a niece, Bonnie Wells Griffin; two nephews, Jimmy and Ricky Wells; a sister-in-law, Lib Correll; a cousin, Sara O'Kelley; and several other cousins and relatives. She and her husband moved to the Presbyterian Home at High Point in 1992. She leaves many friends at the home and at other places where she worked during her lifetime. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in High Point. Mrs. Boyd received a bachelor's degree from Erskine College and a master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She worked as a director of education at Presbyterian churches in South Carolina and North Carolina; including a period of time as Presbytery director of Christian Education in Concord and in Winston-Salem Presbyteries. Her last working years were spent as director of the demonstration kindergarten at Wilkes Community College in Wilkes-boro and as a classroom teacher at the college. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Prospect Presbyterian Church in Mooresville. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the Presbyterian Home in High Point. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church at High Point, The Presbyterian Home at High Point or to a charity of the donor's choice. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home of Mooresville is serving the Boyd family.
