Dr. Bourne was the Acting President at Georgia Tech when I had the good fortune to serve as the President of Tech's student body. By far, the best "perk" of that role was the relationship I formed with both Dr. Bourne and Mrs. Bourne. Tech was lucky to have them both and I am ever grateful for Dr. Bourne's leadership and kind and thoughtful demeanor. Despite their many responsibilites, Dr. and Mrs. Bourne both were always personable and considerate. Anyone who says "Nice guys can't win" never met Dr. Bourne. So sorry to hear of Dr. Bourne's passing. Warmest wishes to Mrs. Bourne and the rest of his family.

Dr. Bourne and Mrs. Bourne were such a huge part of my life both in high school and particularly college when I "followed" them to GA Tech from Virginia. What a wonderful and kind man he was with a tremendous dry sense of humor. I can hear his distinct accent and voice in my mind! He always challenged those around him to be the best that they could; he touched the lives of many. Mrs Bourne, Katherine, Henry, Thomas, and Margaret... our thoughts are with you!
