GRIER WINSTON-SALEM Lee Council Grier November 19, 2012 Mr. Lee Council Grier was born in Forsyth County to the late Robert L. and Ruth L. Grier. He passed away peacefully at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on November 19, 2012. Mr. Grier was a graduate of Carver High School and attended NC A & T State University. He enjoyed the transportation industry and was a driver for the Safe Bus Company and logged many miles as a tractor trailer driver. He retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after more than twenty-eight years of dedicated service. Mr. Grier was honorably discharged from the United States Navy following a tour of duty during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Skyland Park Community Club #3 and a life-long member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Grier is survived Rudine Ray Grier, his wife of 48 years; two brothers, Robert L. and Lawrence W. Grier; two devoted nieces, Ruth Sherrod and Patricia Grier; four nephews; a great nephew, Keith (Keely) Sherrod; a great-great nephew, Keith Sherrod Jr. (KJ); and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Mount Zion Baptist Church, with Dr. Serenus T. Churn Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park.
