Linda Isner Obituary

ISNER SPARTA - Linda McIntyre Isner, 82, of Sparta, NC, and formerly of Wingate, NC, died Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem. She was born on October, 26, 1928, in Union County, NC to Charles Black and Ruby (Perry) McIntyre. In addition to her parents; two sisters; and a brother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert Burns Isner II; two sons, Robert Burns Isner III, and Charles David Isner; and a daughter, Priscilla Faith Isner. She is survived by her son, David Burns Isner and his wife, Jacquelyne of Sparta; two grandsons, Perry Reeves Isner and Evan David Isner of Sparta; two granddaughters, Katherine McIntyre Isner and Charlotte Grace Isner, of Albuquerque, NM; a great-granddaughter, Olive Ann Isner, of Albuquerque, NM; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the country; and countless, precious friends and students whose lives were forever touched by her. Memorial Services will be conducted on Friday, January 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Sparta United Methodist Church in Sparta, NC. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Sparta United Methodist Church, Sparta, NC; Wingate Baptist Church, Wingate, NC; The McIntyre Family Scholarship at Wingate University, Wingate, NC; or Oak Hill Academy, Mouth-of-Wilson, VA.

Thank you so much Linda, for taking the time to do what others wouldn't. Getting a 15 year old teenager to believe that she wasn't a lost freak of nature but a work in progress. I would like to thank you for truly saving my life.
