Our family lived across the street from the Hatfields on Club Park Rd. until 1976 when we moved to California. I shall never forget the personal support and encouragement I received from Weston and Lisa and the beautiful model of living with grace and dignity the Hatfield family gave our 3 daughters. Our sympathy to the Hatfield children, Ann, Weston, Andrea, and Heidi.

Heidi, I am sorry for your loss. I have good memories of engaging conversations with Weston at Catherine and Dad's home.

What a kind and elegant man your father was! He was certainly the most dashing and thoughtful member of our parents' generation... He always, always made Tom and me feel as though he was genuinely pleased to speak with us and to hear what we, no matter how young we were, had to say. He was one of a kind. Much love and sympathy for yr loss.

Weston,
I read with great interest about your father's distinguished career, both in the military and as an attorney and civically involved member of the community. He lived a very meaninful life, and i offer my sincere condolences.

To Weston and Julie and your children and the rest of the Hatfield family, Michael and I just read Mr. Hatfield's obituary in the News & Observer. What a lovely tribute to a wonderful man, and what an enormous loss to all who knew him. Weston, it is easy to understand how you grew up to be such a fine person yourself. Our thoughts are with all of you. Michael and Sarah
