Darren Romanski, age 19, of 720 Avon Street, Wisconsin Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Sunday January 27, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Thomas Graves and Rev. Paul Tonn will officiate. Friends may call at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday and Friday at church from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
Darren was born February 22, 1993 in Wisconsin Rapids to Greg and Sheryl (Henke) Romanski. He received a Christian education at St. Luke's Pre-School and Immanuel Lutheran School. He was a 2011 graduate of Lincoln High School. He was employed as the assistant manager at Family Video. An avid outdoorsman, Darren enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and time spent at the cottage "up north". He played soccer from age 5 through high school (special thanks to coach Heck and all his teammates)! He was usually seen sporting his great contagious smile. His dog, Daisy, was never far from his side. Pheasant hunting trips to South Dakota with his brothers, Dave and Dan became an annual event. Dan & Darren spent many hours exercising and training their faithful companions, Luna and Daisy.
His early years were spent trailing his sister Dana and her friends wherever they went and they "readily" included him. He went to Dana for advice on everything from fashion to relationships. Amanda joined our family and became his second sister - teasing him and loving him.
He is survived by his parents Sheryl and Greg Romanski; maternal grandfather David Henke of Sayner; paternal grandmother Josephine Romanski of Wis. Rapids; three siblings David Romanski (Friend Holly and her son Cadyn) of Redfield, SD, Dan (Amanda) Romanski of Wis. Rapids and Dana (Fiancé Peter Boettcher) Romanski of Madison; aunts and uncles Debra (Ray) Henke Dobson, Pamela (David) Lutz, Tom (Virginia) Romanski, Gary (Bonnie) Romanski, Julie (Marty) Ziolkowski, Rick (Doreen) Romanski and Kris (Bill) Zimmerman. Further survived by all his special cousins and numerous friends and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Dorla Henke, paternal grandfather Roman Romanski and cousin Michael Romanski.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Darren's name at a later date.
We will miss you Darren, but we will see you in eternity!
