David Allan Ferguson, 75, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Riverview Hospital after a long illness.
A private family memorial will be held in the spring per David's wishes.
David was born on October 14, 1937 in Cedar Rapids, IA to John and Helen (Sherman) Ferguson. He attended school in Cedar Rapids and Davenport, then returned to Cedar Rapids to attend Coe College. In 1957 he married Sandra Stange. They were blessed with two children.
David was a corporate buyer working for Lear Siegler and Outboard Marine Corporation. One career highlight was to purchase electronic parts for the first space ship to the moon.
On November 20, 1982 he married Shaaron Di Nicola in Evanston, IL. This union blessed him with three step-children.
David was known for his quick wit and amazing memory. Watching sports was a favorite pastime.
David is survived by his wife Shaaron, son Robert (Lynda) Ferguson, Lake Zurich, IL, daughter Julie Ferguson, Island Lake, IL, step-children, Marci (Kevin) Good, Maple Park, IL, Linda (John) Christiansen, Naperville, IL, and James Di Nicola, Des Plaines, IL. Grandchildren, Mika Stambaugh, Megan Stambaugh, Kaeley Ferguson, Erin Ferguson, Brigid Ferguson, Ian Ferguson, step-grandchildren, Stacey Good, Jeffrey Good and Ethan Christiansen, all of Illinois. A great joy was the birth of great-granddaughter Peyton Meyers. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, sisters Susan Hardin and Jane Paterra.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John and brothers-in-law Dominec Paterra and Larry Hardin.
