Everett E. Henke, age 84, of 521 Dove Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at his home.
Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. Paul Tonn will officiate. Visitation will be at St. Luke's Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park with military rites provided by VFW

Everett was born September 4, 1929 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to August and Rosetta (Witt) Henke Sr. He married Janet Genis on October 24, 1953 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Everett was employed at Consolidated Papers Inc. as a sheet metal worker for 35 years retiring on October 3, 1991.
Everett served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War
from 1951-1952. He was a member of the VFW Post #2534 of Wisconsin Rapids, the '48 Club, and was a charter member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. In the early years Everett enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, bowling and softball. He was an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. Everett always loved the time he spent as his dream cottage on the lake in Rhinelander, WI.
Everett is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Gary (Sandy) Henke and Ken Henke both of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; daughter, Shari (Jeff) Schulz of Greendale, WI; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Jacob) Graf, Amy (Nic) Weiler, Craig Henke, Heather Henke, Sarah Schulz, Hannah Schulz and Noah Schulz; five, almost six great grandchildren, Ella Graf, Brennan Graf, Connor Graf, Addison Graf, Alexis Byes and arriving soon, Blake Weiler; two brothers, David Henke of Saynor, WI and August (Emily) Henke of Nekoosa, WI; and three sisters, Arlene (Leonard) Tuttle of Nekoosa, WI, Betty (Emil) Ehlert of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Jean (George) Maxwell of Baraboo, WI. Everett is also survived by sister in law, Bea Henke and by many nieces, nephews and other family.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Laverne (Violet) Henke and Harlan Henke; sister, Evelyn (Herbert) Neitzel and sister in law, Dorla Henke.
"Everett was a proud marine, dedicated man of God and devoted husband of 59 years. The Henke family wished to thank Dr. Crowthers, Dr. Kischling and the staffs at both Aspirus Clinic and the UW Cancer Center Riverview for their wonderful care. Also a special thank you to special friends, brother in law, Emil Ehlert and lifelong friend, Vic Saeger."
