James "Jim" G. Ahlborn, age 76, of Cudahy, WI, formerly of Babcock, died Monday, April 29, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa, WI. Rev. Doug Schalow will officiate. Burial will be in the Babcock Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ritchayfuneralhome.com.

Jim was born September 19, 1936 in Babcock to Charles and Elnora (Sorrells) Ahlborn. He married Carole Nelson on June 6, 1957 in Illinois. He was a switchman/engineer for CSX Railroad for 45 years, retiring August 30, 1998. He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, playing cards, sports, puzzles, tractor rides, deer stalking through Whitnall Park, and fishing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife and family at his farm in Babcock. A lot of fond memories were made in "God's Country".

Jim is survived by his wife, Carole Ahlborn of Cudahy; 3 sons, James Ahlborn, Jr. of Cudahy, David Ahlborn of St. Francis, and John Ahlborn of Racine; 3 daughters, Vicki Ahlborn of Milwaukee, Wanda (Jeff) Corwin of Cudahy, and Lori (Duwayne) Miramontes of Cudahy; 3 grandchildren, Erika (Doug) Delange, Chad Miramontes, and Amanda Miramontes; 2 great grandchildren, Logan James and Haylee James; and 5 sisters, Beverly Butero, Beatrice Buddinger, Mary Benkowski, Caroline Paul, and Donna Ahlborn. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews and 2 sisters in law, Norene and Judy Ahlborn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, William Ahlborn, Norman Ahlborn, Robert Rasmussen, and Charles Ahlborn, Sr., and one sister, Bonnie Stillman.
