Richard "Zeke" Davis age 85, of 2949 Swanson Road, town of Seneca, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 4 PM. Tuesday at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Friends may call the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 PM. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ritchayfuneralhome.com
Zeke was born March 20, 1927 in Wisconsin Rapids to Ray and Selina (Godon) Davis.
He served in the US Army during World War II
. He married Arlene Marsh on March 5, 1955 in Wisconsin Rapids. She died March 15, 2010.
Zeke was employed at Consolidated Papers (Stora Enso) for 42 years, retiring as a crane operator at the Kraft Division in 1990. He was previously employed by the Northwestern Railroad and the John Sullivan Construction and Cranberry Company. He was a member of the Joseph White American Legion Post #442. Zeke enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and hunting. He particularly enjoyed cooking. Zeke loved his favorite television shows, "Wheel of Fortune", "Dr. Oz", and westerns.
He is survived by his seven children, Judith (Terry) Shymanski of Nekoosa, Richard (friend Mary) Davis of Friendship, William Davis of Nekoosa, Carol (Larry) Krubsack of Nekoosa, Nancy Davis of Nekoosa, Phillip (Pauline) Davis of Prentice, and Jayne (Scott) O'Dell of Round Rock, TX; 9 grandchildren, Becky (Brad) Sanderson of Wabasha, MN, Eric (Kendra) Shymanski of Nekoosa, Brian (Sara) Krubsack of Nekoosa, Kelly (Mike) Bluell of Wisconsin Rapids, Samantha (Dylan) Emerson of Wellington, NV, Todd (Angela) Davis of Nekoosa, Bradley and Brock O'Dell of Round Rock, TX, and Jason Brown of Wisconsin Rapids; 11 great grandchildren, Tanner Sanderson, Onna and Finley Shymanski, Taylor and Aaron Krubsack, Ashlyn and Michael III Bluell, Jackson and Lily Belle Emerson, and Cody and Madison Davis; 9 step grandchildren, Cristene, Jacob, Sarah, Mary, Joan, Erik, Sara, Troy, and Melody; 10 step great grandchildren, Bly, Jamie, Faith, Brock, Gabby, Hope, Austin, Arianna, Pauline, and Taylor; and one brother, George (Dolores) Davis of Wisconsin Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 2 brothers, Clifford and Phillip, one sister, Eglafer "Tootsie" Pelot, and one daughter-in-law, Cindy Davis.
