Bruce V. Miltimore, age 85, of 1055 Market Street, Nekoosa, WI died Monday, January 7, 2013 at Strawberry Lane Medical Center in Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Christian Life Fellowship in Port Edwards, WI. The Rev. Dean Anderson will officiate, burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in the Town of Armenia, Juneau Co., WI. Military rites will be provided by the Nekoosa VFW Post # 5960. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Christian Life Fellowship in Port Edwards, WI from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
Bruce was born March 12, 1927 in the Town of Armenia, Juneau Co., WI to the late Virgil and Verna (Lewis) Miltimore. He was employed as a police officer for the Plainfield and Pittsville, WI police departments, retiring in 1985. Bruce served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served aboard the USS Dixie in the Pacific Theater. Bruce was a member of the Nekoosa VFW Post #5960. He enjoyed hunting, camping, playing cards and enjoyed visiting and socializing with friends.
He is survived by his son Jason Bovee, brother Ross (Barbara ) Miltimore of Nekoosa, WI, sister Jackie (Allen) Koran of Wisconsin Rapids, 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 2 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Art Hamin, daughter-in-law Sandy Miltimore and many nieces and nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, son Russell, sisters Juanita (Joy) Hamin, Patricia Hamilton, half sister Ruby, half brother Vernon, infant brother Claude and infant half sister Brittamarte and brother-in-law Bill Hamilton.
The family would like to thank the staff at Strawberry Lane Medical Center for the excellent care given to Bruce.
