Iverson, Constance J.

Constance (Connie) J. Iverson, age 92, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, now residing at Arborwood Lodge, formerly of rural Vesper, passed away June 29, 2013 at Arborwood Lodge in Wisconsin Rapids.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Rolando Onden will officiate, burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Altdorf, WI. Visitation will be held at Ritchay Funeral Home on Tuesday July 2, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and again at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. There will be a parish rosary held at 6:30 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

Connie was born and raised in rural Vesper on February 25, 1921. She was the twelfth of 16 children born to the late William and Catherine (Wirtz) Brockman. She married Merril R. Iverson on August 25, 1945 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Altdorf, WI. Before her marriage she worked for Consolidated Papers and after raising her family she worked for Wood County Division on Aging as a lunch site manager.

Connie was an active 4-H leader, imparting her knowledge of cooking and sewing to many youngsters in the Altdorf area. She was also an active and lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Altdorf until it's closing in 2000. Since then she has been a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.

In addition to her husband Merril, she is survived by her daughters Catherine (James) Kuhn of Vesper, WI, Jean (Archie) Schwantes of Marshfield, WI, Jan Martinez of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Dorothy (Wayne) Baierl of Rothschild, WI, Sandra (Steven) Chasteen of Pittsville, WI, and Sharon Kaliebe of Wausau, WI. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, brothers Gerald Brockman of Tomah, WI. and Ernest (Margaret) Brockman of Vesper, WI, sisters Rita (Othmar) Hasenohrl of Stevens Point, WI, Joan Schmidt of Park Falls, WI. and Marcy Diedrick of Rhinelander, WI.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Lynne Tormoen, great-granddaughters Valerie Blum and Isabelle Tatro, brothers Ray, Laurance, Wilbert, Ben, Leonard and Harold Brockman, and sisters Clara Omholt, Louise Kissinger, Dora Osenga and Rose Krause.

The family would like to thank the staff at Arborwood Lodge and Ministry Home Care Hospice for their care and support.
