Debbie A. Johnson, 57, of Stevens Point, passed away unexpectedly at her home Saturday morning, Nov. 24, 2012.
Debbie was born Aug. 4, 1955, in Stevens Point, the daughter of Ervin and Marie (Heck) Norton. She married Thomas W. Johnson on Feb. 16, 1973, at Peace United Church of Christ in Stevens Point. The couple moved as Thomas was in the U.S. Army, before returning to Stevens Point after the Gulf War. Debbie worked at Copps, Tank N Tummy, and the Baymont Hotel over the years. She was also a well-known basset hound breeder. Her pride and joy were her dogs and her newest puppy, Coleman, was born just a couple of months ago.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; their son, Jason, Stevens Point; her sister, Barbara (Richard) Garfield, Wisconsin Rapids; two brothers, Eric (Jodi) Norton, Plover, and Jeff (Peggy) Norton, Stevens Point; her half-brother Michael (Peggy) Walton, Wisconsin Rapids; sisters-in-law, Mary E. Marco, Stevens Point, Sylvia Johnson, Stevens Point, Karen (James) Pulbratek, Sheboygan; her brother-in-law, Gerald W. Johnson, Stevens Point; 10 nephews and 16 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Marie (Heck) Norton; her half-brother, Steven Walton; her nephew, Phillip Magliocco; and her in-laws, Lyman and Sue Lee Johnson.
