Ernest James Kiedrowski, 75, of Town of Grant, passed away peacefully at the Nekoosa Retirement Center on Thursday, April 11, 2013.
He was the youngest of three boys born to John and Anastasia Kiedrowski at the Old Kiedrowski Homestead in the town of Grant on June 21, 1937. He attended Lincoln High School and spent most of his working career at the Port Edwards paper mill where he retired in 1996.
On April 25, 1964 he married his sweetheart Lenora (Pee Wee) Slauson at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
Ernest served twenty-two years in the Wisconsin National Guard. He was a long standing member of the Grand Rapids Lion's Club. He loved spending time with his seven wonderful grandchildren, cutting firewood and pulp, not to mention of all the memories made during the hunting seasons. Along with that he spent most of his retirement years running his little hobby farm.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora, his son's John (Sue Strecker) Kiedrowski, of Wisconsin Rapids, James (Wendy Alft) Kiedrowski and his daughters, Joanne (Robert) Hamelink, of Port Edwards, Janel (Brian Stenzel Jr.) Stubbe, Wisconsin Rapids, grandchildren, Ernest (Little E) Kiedrowski, Stephanie and Stephan Hamelink, Cody and Cassandra Kiedrowski, and Chrystal and Jena Stubbe. His sister-in-laws, Mary Kiedrowski, Grace Slauson, June Swanson, Julie Slauson, Marsha Price, Mildred Swonger, Jeanette Elsen, brother-in-laws, Roger Penny, Donald Slauson and Jerry Elsen and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. We can't forget his biggest buddy Boo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Anthony and John Kiedrowski, mother and father-in-law, Mildred and Robert Slauson, six brother-in-laws, Daniel and Burt Slauson, Norman Staskek, Harry Swanson, Edward Price, Leroy Swonger and three sister-in-laws, Cybil Slauson, Alvina Stashek and Doris Penny.
Visitation will be on April 16, 2013 from four to eight at Higgins Funeral Home and the service mass will be on April 17, 2013 at St. Vincent DePaul church at eleven am with visitation at ten am until time of mass, with Father John Steiner officiating the mass. Family would like to thank the wonderful employees at the Nekoosa Retirement Center for their hard work and dedication over the years. You are truly God's special angles.
