Freddie A. Cox, 73, of 2095 State Highway 80, town of Remington, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. The Rev. Bill Beaton will officiate.
Friends may call 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Freddie was born Oct. 18, 1938, in Mather, to Ole and Pearl (Hancock) Cox. He married Virginia Dye on March 19, 1965, in Sutherlin, Ore.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959. He was employed as a truck driver for Manville Sales for 21 years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Virginia; two children, Kerri (John) Penworth of Wisconsin Rapids and Robert (Ayako) Cox of Tucson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Alex, Ariana, and Summer Kobza, Desmond, Jessa, and Cody Schwoch, Alyssa Sanders, and Yamato and Musashi Cox; one brother, Harold Cox of Wisconsin Rapids; and two sisters, Emma Powell of Marshfield and Helen (Ben) Richer of Tomah.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeremy Cox; and five brothers, Carl, Everett, Clifford, Gordon and Oscar Cox.
