Aron, Gene D. Sr.

Gene D. Aron, Sr., age 71, of Nekoosa, died peacefully surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at his home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM. at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at Riverside Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ritchayfuneralhome.com.

Gene was born April 17, 1942 in the town of Remington, Wood County, to Dominic and Emma (Hilgers) Aron. He married Ellen Ostrum on October 19, 1963 in Nekoosa. Gene was a self employed mason and carpenter. He was a member of the South Wood County River Yacht Club. His interests included cooking, gardening, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ellen; 3 sons, Gene, Jr. (special friend Lisa Barton) Aron, of Wisconsin Rapids, Mark (Rae) Aron of Plover, and Daniel Aron of Nekoosa; 6 grandchildren, Hunter, Kayla, Tyler, and Ashlynn Aron and Michael and Melvin Plummer; 1 great granddaughter, Adrienne Plummer; 1 brother, John (Kathy) Aron of Nekoosa; and 2 sisters, Donna McDonald of Wisconsin Rapids and Nancy (David) Kniprath of Nekoosa. He is further survived by many loved brothers and sisters in-law and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother in-law, James and Rose Ostrum, and brother in-law, Robert McDonald.

The Aron family would like to thank Ministry Home Care Hospice and Amy Aron Koth for their loving care of Gene and also, the support received from family and friends.
