Truhlar, Jerry L.

Jerry L. Truhlar, age 88, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Ministry St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, WI.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 17, 2012 at Woodland Lutheran Church, Town of Rome, WI. Rev. Stan Kwiecien will officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends at Woodland Lutheran Church on Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM.

Jerry was born September 18, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Alois and Mary (Saxa) Truhlar. He married Aileen Kranz on May 1, 1948 in Cicero, IL. Jerry was a tool and die maker for Illinois Tool Works for 42 years retiring on December 31, 1982.

Jerry served in the U.S. Army during World War II from February 1943 until November 1945. Jerry was commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America for 19 years and served as president of the Rome Senior Citizens for 2 years. He enjoyed gardening, electronics and baking.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Aileen; two sons, Bruce (Patricia) Truhlar of Elk Grove Village, IL and Jerry Truhlar Jr. of Minneapolis, MN; one daughter, Cynthia (Robert) Miller of Minneapolis, MN; 5 grandchildren, Yax Vrishicka, Crystal (Colin) Schroeder, Brittany (Eric Reynertson) Miller, Randall Truhlar and Jason Truhlar and 8 great grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be designated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Woodland Lutheran Church, Town of Rome, WI

Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI is handling all arrangements.
