Joyce C. DeBoer, age 83, of 621 North Street, Nekoosa died Thursday November 29, 2012 at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday December 6, 2012 at the Nekoosa United Church of Christ. Rev. Micah Schlobohm will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa and at church Thursday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.

Joyce was born February 16, 1929 in Mauston to John and Laura (Clausen) Long. She married Royce DeBoer on June 5, 1948 at the Nekoosa United Church of Christ and they resided in Nekoosa building two of their homes. Joyce stayed at home with her four children and was very involved with their lives and later in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce was known for her hospitality.

Joyce attended the Nekoosa United Church of Christ where she was a member of the choir for 71 years. She blessed many occasions with her beautiful soprano voice and was also involved with the Wisconsin Rapids Community Choir.

She is survived by her four children Sherry Martinovich of Soldotna, Alaska, Larry (Linda) DeBoer of LaCrescenta, CA, Randy (Pat) DeBoer of Wis. Rapids and Kevin (Pam) DeBoer of Wis. Rapids; 11 grandchildren Eric Martinovich, Crista (Fred) Chace, Leah (Justin) Mitchell, Lindsay (Tom) O'Connor, Ira (Krysta) DeBoer, Jacob (Emily) DeBoer, Jon DeBoer, Cheyenne (Vincent) Whitemarsh, Emma, Peter and Simone DeBoer; ten great grandchildren Taylor Schoenberg, Hunter Hollenberg, Morgan and Mason Chace, Caden, Connor and Ethan Mitchell, Madeline DeBoer, Wyatt Feaster and Tira Carbiener with three more great grandchildren soon.

She was preceded in death by her husband Royce in 2009, parents, one grandson Joe Feaster, one great grandson Holden Hollenberg, three brothers Jess, Gaylord and Lawrence Long and one sister Iola Welch.
