Nelson, Kenneth D.
Kenneth D. Nelson, 63, of Nekoosa, Wis., passed away on Feb. 12, 2013, after a short illness at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, Wis., with his family and special friends by his side.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church in Arkdale, Wisconsin. Pastor Terri Skildum and Rev. John K. Stake will officiate. Interment will be at the East Arkdale Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be noon until the time of service on Sunday at the Church.
Kenneth was born Sept. 12, 1949, in Baraboo, Wis., to Nels and Grenneth (Lake) Nelson.
He was raised on the family farm in Arkdale, until his graduation from Adams-Friendship High School.
Kenneth had two children, Cynthia and Casey. His employment included various occupations primarily carpentry and construction work.
He had a passion for hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. When he wasn't hunting or fishing he was playing pool. His life revolved around his close friends from the Wisconsin Rapids and Nekoosa area. During his illness this very special group of friends spent many hours with him. Throughout his travels in life he also made many close friends in Pennsylvania and Canada. Having so many friends is a tribute to his friendly and caring nature.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Nels Nelson.
Survivors, mother, Grenneth Nelson, Friendship, Wis.; brother, Steven Nelson, Arkdale, Wis.; sister, Catherine (Dennis) Rathermel, Friendship, Wis.; daughter, Cynthia; son, Casey; five nieces and nephews, Tanya, Tammy, Justin, Tyler and Lance.
