Leaett L. Sweeney, 53, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully Monday, September 16, 2013 in Palliative Care at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Leaett was born in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on September 29, 1959 to Ronald and Mildred (Swartout) Sweeney.
Leaett was employed by GNP Country Estates for several years as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Dietary Aide.
She had a heart of gold, always seeking to find how she could help others. Leaett's passion was working with people and taking care of their needs, whether it was helping the elderly or the restaurant guests she served. She enjoyed crafting and cooking, her specialty was making the most delicious soups.
Survivors include her step-father: Malcolm Bergan; two sisters: Bonnie (Gary) Gyrion, Wisconsin Rapids; Patty Sweeney, Wisconsin Rapids; half-brother, Tim Sweeney, Spencer; niece: Shannon (Bill) Goodenough, Wisconsin Rapids; two great-nephews: Austin and Logan Goodenough, Wisconsin Rapids. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Bergan and father, Ronald Sweeney.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 23rd at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Rev. Douglas Schalow will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, September 22nd from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday, all at the funeral home.
