Leona B. Tomesek, age 86, formerly of New Miner, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Wellington Place in the village of Biron.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM. Monday, April 29, 2013 at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Rev. Bill Beaton will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in New Miner. Leona was born October 5, 1926 in Coloma, WI to Anton and Clara (Burian) Ziska. She married John Tomesek on October 3, 1964 in Wisconsin Rapids. Leona was a homemaker. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Nekoosa Papers, Inc. In more recent years, she was employed by Del Monte Canning Co. in Plover and Ocean Spray Cranberry in Babcock.
She is survived by her husband John of Wellington Place in Biron; one daughter, Susan (Bill) Van Faasen of Kaukauna; one sister, Mammie Atkinson of the town of Rome; and one brother, Tony "Bud" (Verla) Ziska of Nekoosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Alice Humphrey and Helen Ziska.
