Lottie was born March 30, 1935 in Wisconsin Rapids to Harry and Elizabeth (Bates) Rivers. She was raised in the Port Edwards area and married Gordon Zager on September 1, 1951 in Wisconsin Rapids. After 48 loving years together, Gordon died January 21, 2000.
Lottie was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, delighting to be very involved in her grandchildren's lives. She was also very sentimental; saving every art project, school assignment and flower her grandkids ever gave her. Lottie also had a great love of all animals, starting with her pet snake as a young girl to her dogs over her lifetime and many trips walking through the woods looking for caterpillars and monarch butterflies. In her free time, she was a very crafty woman enjoying sewing stuffed animals with her sister.
Survivors include her sons, Douglas (Rita) of Phoenix, AZ and Kevin (Colleen) Zager of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren, Stephanie Arnold, Kevin (Becca) Zager and Tiffany (Kyle) Leong; great-granddaughter, Abigail Leong; sister-in-law, Betty Rivers; niece, Gene (Jim) Williams; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert (Betty) Rivers; sisters: Bernice (Earl) Hopkins, Cleo (Earl) Whitrock, Estella (Marvin) Parkinson, Audry (Carl) Neuman, Alice (Francis) Morgan and her 2nd husband, Harold Lafler and Gloria Rivers.
A special thanks to Christina of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice for your exceptional care for Lottie.
