Matthew B. Henriksen, age 23 of N12103 Dyke Road, Necedah, WI died Sunday, April 21, 2013.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Nekoosa. Rev. Carl Kummer will officiate; burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in the Town of Armenia, Juneau Co., WI. Visitation will be held at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and again at the Church on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Matthew was born October 12, 1989 in Wisconsin Rapids to Michael and Candise (Tomschin) Henriksen. He was a 2008 graduate of Necedah High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from February of 2009 to March of 2012, and was employed as a custodian at Necedah Area Schools. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially his yearly fishing trips to Canada with his family, and playing video games and helping out with the Power Lifting Team in Necedah. He had a passion for both the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Matthew enjoyed spending time with his family and was a mentor to all his cousins. Matt was a very kind and loving person and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents Michael and Candise Henriksen of Necedah, WI, brother Christopher (fiancé Lisa Hafenbredl) of Marshfield, WI , sister Nicole (special friend Garrett Helmke) Henriksen of Necedah, WI, grandfather Alan Henriksen of Nekoosa and is further survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Shirley Henriksen, maternal grandparents William and Lois Tomschin, cousins Brent Henriksen and Heather Tomschin.
In lieu of flowers, the family will designate a memorial at a later date.
