Richard W. Kirschling, age 86, of 1500 Pepper Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Wisconsin Rapids Care Center.

Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on Thursday from 9:00-10:30 AM. (Please Note: The public visitation will only be held at the funeral home on Thursday morning.)

Richard was born October 14, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Felix and Ann (Corcoran) Kirschling. His family moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 1936 and he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1944. Richard also attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering and received an associate degree in accounting from Mid-State Technical College. Richard married Esther Grunewald Eswein on September 26, 1957 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Richard was employed at Consolidated Papers for 37 years. where he was known as "jingles".

Richard served two years in the European Theater during World War II from 1945 to 1946. He was a member of American Legion Post #9 of Wisconsin Rapids, VFW Post #2534 of Wisconsin Rapids and was a member of the Barber Shoppers for 15 years.

Richard is survived by his wife, Esther; two stepsons, John Eswein of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Morris (Diane) Eswein of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; four grandsons, and eight great grandchildren. Richard is also survived by two brothers, James Kirschling of Milwaukee, WI and Charles (Lou Helen) Kirschling of Milwaukee, WI and three sisters, Marilyn (Cyril) Suing of Two Rivers, WI, Jane Kirsten of Tampa, Florida and Anita Memett of Somerville, New Jersey.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Thomas, brother in law, Vince Memett and sister in law, Edythe Kirschling.
