Sawicky, Shirley Mae
Shirley Mae Sawicky, age 76, of Marshfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Ministry St Joseph's Hospital after suffering a Heart Attack during a procedure. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Our Lady Of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield. Father Eric Berns will officiate. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 PM with a visitation following until 7:00 PM on Friday, December 14th at the Church and one hour prior to service time at the Church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield.
Shirley was born on June 22, 1936 the daughter of John Sr. and Evelyn (Bores) Krohn. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Harvey Sawicky on June 8, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield.
Along with being a loving wife, mother and grandma, Shirley worked alongside her husband keeping the books for the family business, Harvey Sawicky Construction.
Mrs. Sawicky cherished time spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and traveling. She was a kind and beautiful soul who was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Those that knew her best will miss her warm spirit and her love of spending holidays with her family.
Shirley is lovingly survived by her husband, Harvey Sawicky; children, Debbie (Richard) Ulman, Sid Sawicky, Jay (Debbi) Sawicky, David (Patti) Sawicky, and Jon (Peggy) Sawicky. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Stacy (Bret Cook) Gray, Tyler Ulman, Adam Ulman, Justin Sawicky, Fr. Blake Sawicky, Laura Sawicky, Sam Sawicky, Molly Sawicky, Benjamin Sawicky, Kari Sawicky, and Megan Sawicky; 2 brothers, Robert Krohn and Jack (Beverly) Krohn, as well as, many other relatives and friends. She will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Sr. and Evelyn.
A memorial will be established in Shirley's name for: Pancreatic Cancer Research; due to the fact that Shirley was a proud survivor of Pancreatic Cancer.
