Ritchay, Mary Ann
Mary Ann Ritchay, age 84, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2014 at The Renaissance Assisted Living Center while under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 2, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Visitation will held at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI from 4:00-8:00 PM Thursday and Friday at the Church form 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Mary was born at home in Medford, WI on March 2, 1930 to Emil and Kathleen (O'Malley) Weix. She attended Holy Rosary Elementary School, Medford High School and St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Marshfield, WI. Mary was employed as a registered nurse at Consolidated Papers in Wisconsin Rapids. She married John A. Ritchay, Sr. on October 29, 1955 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Merrill, WI.
Mary dedicated her life to her faith and her family. She was a devoted longtime member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She fulfilled her role of loving caretaker- caring for her husband, children, mother-in-law and grandchildren. Mary, along with her husband John, owned and operated Ritchay Funeral Home for many years.
Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, John; five children: John (Mary) Ritchay Jr. of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Bill (Terri) Ritchay of Green Bay, WI, Michael (Patti) Ritchay of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Susan (Marc) Moroder of Stevens Point, WI and Ann (Landon) Williams of Madison, WI; thirteen grandchildren, Amy (Tate) Gisslen, Vicki (Ben) Oleson and Jenna Knipple, Aaron (Jacquelyn), Ryan (fiancé- Jaclyn) and Alex Ritchay, Vinny (fiancé- Hannah), Jenny and Joe Ritchay; Justin and Maggie Moroder and Madeline and Eli Williams and three great grandchildren, Abigail, Brady and Lydia.
Mary is further survived by her sister, Patricia McCarron of Merrill, WI, brother, Mark (Betty) Weix of Merrill, WI, sisters in law, Sally (Weix) Wiley of Merrill, WI and Jane (Rollie) Junk Carpenter of Mesa, AZ and brother-in-law, Jim (Minnie) Ritchay of Green Bay, WI and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Emil Joe Weix and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ethel and Aaron Ritchay.
Memorials may be designated to Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church.
