John J. Weslaski, 73, Wisconsin Rapids, died early Thursday, May 08, 2014 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 12th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Pastor Kevin Ader will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.

John was born in Stevens Point, WI on October 21, 1940 to adoptive parents Felix and Alma (Getzloff) Weslaski . He married Marilyn Helminiak on October 24, 1982.

John was employed by Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids in the maintenance department until his retirement.

He served his country in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963 aboard the USS San Pueblo (AGS-30) and the USS Kankakee (AO-39).

John enjoyed classic collectables, following and going to Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packer games, and traveling. He also belonged to the USS Kankakee (AO-39) reunion party and the VFW.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn; three sons: Kevin (Claire) Weslaski, Racine, WI; Allen Musch, Stevens Point, WI; John Weslaski Jr., Wisconsin Rapids; two daughters: Amy (Larry) White; Vickie Ironside, all of Wisconsin Rapids; six grandchildren; one sister: Judy Whitney, Wisconsin Rapids; one brother: Jim (Melody) Weslaski, Wisconsin Rapids; and mother-in-law: Leona Helminiak, Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by son Allen Weslaski, infant daughter Paulette, father-in-law Chester Helminiak, and sister Betty Heineck.
