Muriel K. Hamm, 87, Stevens Point, died with children and family by her side on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at North Crest Assisted Living, Stevens Point.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 20, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale with Rev. Barnabas Kyea officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City and on Friday from 9:30 am until service time at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale.
Muriel was born on February 24, 1927 in Watertown, South Dakota, the daughter of Elmer and Lillian (Hansen) Wright. She married Arnold Draxler on October 30, 1948. He died on December 1, 1967. She then married Leonard Hamm in September of 1970. He also is deceased.
Muriel enjoyed traveling, going to places such as Chicago, Texas, New Orleans, Minnesota, and South Dakota. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Muriel is survived by her children, Arlen Eugene (Beverly) Draxler of Wisconsin Rapids, Eileen Carol (Gary) Parker of Pittsville, Duane Andrew (Rhonda) Draxler of Stevens Point, Yvonne Irene (Terry) Monien of Custer, and Douglas William Draxler of Wisconsin Rapids. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Virginia Larsen of Abilene, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a son Kenneth Draxler, a daughter, Janet Winton, a granddaughter, Gretchen, a grandson, Carl, and a brother, Warren Wright.
Memorials may be designated in her name to Aspirus Hospice.
