Owens, Gerald "Jerry" S.

Gerald (Jerry) Stephen Owens, age 60, of Madison, WI, formerly of Kaukauna, WI passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014. For the past several years, Jerry lived courageously with Alzheimer's. He resided in Madison since July 2007 at his sister Mary's home and entered Agrace Hospice Care on June 17, 2014.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1110 1st Street North, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Father John Swing will officiate. Visitation will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.

Jerry was born on March 23, 1954, in Stevens Point, WI, the son of Stuart Walker Owens and Madeline Rice Owens. He attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School and Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids. Jerry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from UW-Stevens Point. Jerry was a lifelong Packers, Badgers and Brewer's fan and also enjoyed golf and movies.

Jerry is survived by his daughters and grandson, Annie (Eric) Miller, grandson Colin Miller, of Appleton, WI; Brittany (Tyler) Tennie of Kaukauna, WI; sisters Nancy (Mike) Clement of Wisconsin Rapids, and Mary Owens of Madison; brother, Jim Owens of Cedar Rapids, IA, nieces and nephews, Amy Foerster (Mike Finio), Becky Clement (Jeff Fletcher), Bob (Becky) Clement, Molly (Mark) Breyer, Kerry (Shawn) Widish, Heidi (Andrew) Peart, Tim Birkley (Junelle Steward), Jonathan Birkley, Maddie Owens, Lyle Owens, Morgan Owens and Matthew Owens. He is further survived by numerous cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Stuart Walker Owens and Madeline Rice Owens and a brother, John Stuart Owens.

A special thank you to UW Hospital ICU and Agrace Hospice Care, Madison WI for the wonderful compassionate care given to both Jerry and his family.
