Linda Knapp Obituary
Knapp, Linda L.

Linda L. Knapp, no longer has to face the stress of trying to please others since she passed from her earthly body on August 12, 2014. She moved on to continue her eternal life with a confident trust in her Lord Jesus.

Memorial Services are 2:00 PM Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Woodlands Church at 1000 E. Riverview Expressway in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. Dan DeRoche will officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Church on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services. Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family.

Linda was born Linda L. Ruder on November 26, 1942 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. and her early years were in Nekoosa. Along the way in life she worked in banks and as an assessor, with her final years again in Nekoosa as a dedicated care-giver to her mother.

Linda married Ken Knapp on March 2, 1991 and they resided on a hobby farm near Vesper. Besides the wonders of nature they especially enjoyed camping and fishing together.

Linda was a praying mother, grandmother and aunt, though she never had children of her own. Besides praying for others, she commonly would pray her way through the day asking for God's assistance with recipes, schedules, directions or any frustrating situation. Linda showed her love more by action than by words, always following her passion to please others.

For Linda personally, it was the little things in life that gave her great joy and satisfaction, continuing up to recent weeks as she and Ken shared God's marvelous creations together. Telling and re-telling stories of her two families and activities (a family trait) was a routine part of life. These usually brought laughter but sometimes there was a deep thought and learning.

Linda loved to minister to the elderly all her life and had been looking forward to re-starting Bible classes for those with special learning needs.

Another gift of hers was to read out loud to others, bringing to life the meanings of the authors. This was especially true of Scripture. For many years she clung to her favorite Bibles, using them along with multiple devotional books daily. Often their deep meanings were shared by phone in recent years.

Linda is survived by her husband, Ken; three children, Brian (Lori) Knapp of Shawano, WI, Lori (Jay) Bemke of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Eric (Sara) Knapp of Waupaca, WI; six grandchildren, Justin, Ellyn, Claire, Jessie, Tyler and Colin; two brothers, James (Paula) Ruder of Brownwood, TX and John (Lynann) Ruder of Port Edwards, WI and also is survived by loving nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Ruth Ruder.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for Linda will be directed toward people's physical and spiritual comfort.
